Whit's Graduation

Hugs and more hugs! Who will cry the most when she moves out? Mama Bear or Big Tough Daddy Bear? Trent or the sisters? I'll keep you guessing on that one.

Bethany, Mary, Whitney and Tiffany singing the National Anthem. Great harmony gals!

Look at that grin! (Twice in braces worked well!) So relieved to have her salutatorian speech over with, so happy to be graduating, and ready to move on to the next chapter of her life! Way to go, Whitney!

Washington DC Trip with Taylor

In December 2007, Evan and I got to travel to Washington DC with Taylor and the 6th grade students of Lincoln County. Pictured here is Taylor, Madi, and Kaylee (the Three Musketeers) lying on the Lincoln Memorial top step where Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his famous speech. Our fund-raising efforts paid off. The kids only paid $100 for their trip. While there, we visited all the memorials, the Capitol Building, Mount Vernon, the US Senate in session, Smithsonian, Air & Space Museum, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the highlight of our trip--Arlington Cemetery --which was our main purpose for going. We decorated a section of the cemetery with donated wreaths. It was an amazing spiritual experience for all. It was one of the best trips we've ever been on; we'd love to return when we can spend more time visiting historical sites and take the whole family! I am working on a slideshow because there are some great pictures of the trip. . . but I haven't quite figured it out yet. Stay tuned!

Loookin' Good!

Here's one of our favorite photos from Whitney's Senior portfolio. Hard to believe that she's genetically linked to Evan and I! I have to admit that she's quite gorgeous.

Whitney's Senior Ball

Trent Tibbitts and Whitney . . . getting ready to go to the dance! Ah, to be young again!

Whitney's 18th Birthday!

This is Whitney NOW! We had traditional BLT's for dinner as that was the last thing I was craving eighteen years ago before I went to the hospital. She is spoiled rotten and we love her to pieces!!
She'll be off to college in a month and is feeling a little overwhelmed, but mostly excited!

This is Whitney THEN!! (about 1 year old). Those big brown eyes still get her way most of the time. Back then I could hold her, squeeze her, kiss her, and tickle her. Now I'm lucky to get an occasional hug in. That lucky Trent. . . he's the one who wins Whitney's affection these days! We love our "E-E Jo-Beck".

Squeeze Inn

Here's Evan about to devour the famous Squeeze Cheeseburger. We watched an episode of "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" and heard about the Squeeze Inn. Sue & Shawn looked it up in Sacramento and so we tried it out. It was a dive, but soooo DELICIOUS!!

Floating the American River

Look at our cute river rats! Everyone had a great time floating, splashing, swimming, and being together on the river. Sorry you couldn't be with us Whitney!

Abby's Allstar Team-Winnemucca, NV

Abby's team played hard and took second place. Abby is top row, second from the left, next to the coach with her best friend, Chesnee, on her right.

The only photo I got up close with the zoom because Abby doesn't like her picture taken! I must say she's the cutest ballplayer on the team!!

Lincoln County Allstars

Abby was selected to be on the Minor League 9-10 yr old girls' softball team. We are headed to Winnemucca, NV this week. She's worked really hard and is excited to play ball every day!

After much grief from my sister Sue, Whitney and I are finally creating our family blogspot. It is a test of patience as she knows much more about computers than me, but her itunes keeps us going!
