Spring? or What?!?

There are signs of Spring around town and in our yard; Taylor and Whitney took actual photographs of them. Blossoms, bulbs, and buds! However, with the cold temperatures, wind chills, and weekly snowstorms. . . I'm wondering if Spring will ever be here to stay!

Notice the snow surrounding our tulips!
Note to self: DO NOT box up Winter clothing until after May. Keep a few items out just in case.

Taylor's Dance Recital

Chicka is my only girl in dance this year. She took lessons from Aunt Mindy, and as always, Mindy went all out with costumes so each girls looked beautifully dazzling for the recital. It was fun to see all the dancers perform in the brand new auditorium. . .prime entertainment for Lincoln County! Mindy always closes her recitals with a "drill-down" (something I never could do). Taylor took 3rd in the drill down and got an award for the "Most Improved" dancer. Way to go, CHICKA!

Dancing with cousin Sydney was a lot of fun although Tay's a bit serious in this shot. It's hard to get good ones with constant moving, but I managed to get a few good ones.

This number was especially good. Future drill team standing at attention. Chicka seems to be the only one smiling here. It takes lots of concentration to remember all the right steps, keep rhythm, and keep SMILING!

Oh There's Sunshine, Beautiful Sunshine

It is amazing how a little sunshine can lift hearts, change moods, and make our spirits bright! It's like an instant dose of God's love! It makes me soooo happy to have the sun out today! Not a care in the world....Lexapro must be working!

If there's sunshine in your heart,
You can send a shining ray
That will turn the night to day;
And your cares will all depart,
If there's sunshine in your heart today.

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine!
You make me happy when skies are gray!

And there'll be sun, sun, sun
All over our bodys.
And sun, sun, sun
All down our necks
And There'll be sun, sun, sun
All over our faces
And sun, sun, sun
So, what the heck

There is sunshine in my soul today!

Scatter sunshine all along your way.
Cheer and bless and brighten every passing day!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the sunshine today!

Evan's First Triathlon

The main event for our Spring Break this year was supporting Evan in his first triathlon. The order of events was 1st: swimming 4 laps (200 meters), 2nd: biking 5 miles, and 3rd: jogging 1.5 miles. His hard work paid off as he placed 3rd in his division and felt great all day. It was an exciting event to watch; we are so proud of his great accomplishments! Here he is getting his "Competitive Face" on while showing off his muscles, frog legs, and matching tattoos!
Here's part of the Schimmy Fan Club cheering him on as he swims. Taylor, Whitney, and his mother, Linda aka "Grandma Schimmy".
Me on the phone telling everyone how great he did!

Third place metal! Feeling great; ready to go watch some softball tournaments!Photos by ABBY...She has a good eye for capturing the moments without missing them (unlike me!)
